Église Saint Georges

The first church was built at the end of the 12th century. At the time, it consisted of three roughly equal arms: the present chancel, the north arm of the transept topped by the bell tower, and the nave arm extending up to the second window of the present nave. These arms were joined by the transept. The Romanesque style can be admired here.
The wooden parts, i.e. the gallery inside and the spire above the tower, were burnt down in 1568 by the Huguenots, but its two bells dating from 1517 were not damaged.
The church was restored at the end of the 17th century.
Then its gallery and the spire above the tower were burnt down again in 1794, before being restored in 1825.
In 1863, the nave was extended by three sections and the entire vault was rebuilt.
The wall on the south side of the transept was also demolished to build a chapel, giving the church the cross shape you see today.
