Presentation of: EGLISE DE SAINT ETIENNE DE MONTLUC
This building was constructed in 1841, replacing the medieval church. In neo-classical style, its architect drew inspiration from the plan of Roman basilicas, without a transept.
A bell tower dominates the main porch. Another special feature is the nave, which houses two large antique wooden statues from the former church, representing Saint-Clair, 1st bishop of Nantes, and Saint Corneille.
Since 1936, several restoration campaigns, including that of the exterior rendering, have given it back its beautiful luminous colour. This heritage has been listed as a historic monument since 2008.
