CHAPELLE SAINTE BARBE
Located halfway along the Calvaires hiking trail, Chapelle Sainte Barbe can be seen from afar. Erected on a plateau some twenty metres above the village of Magouët, it offers a magnificent panoramic view of the bocage and neighbouring villages.
Although the site has been occupied since Gallo-Roman times, the origin of the chapel remains unknown. Burnt down during the French Revolution, it was last restored in 1830.
Every year, the local inhabitants invoke Saint Barbara to protect them from storms.
Access via the D17 towards Ste Anne sur Brivet
Parking is difficult - access on foot from the village of Magoüet - take care when crossing the D17.
