From the 12th century, the "Bourg Neuf" of Saint Cyr, becomes the new port of the town. There established merchants, sailors, shipowners, traders...

At the bend of the streets, one finds names which recall the splendor of the maritime past of the town; the "sailors street", the "Goog port street", the "rope factory path" ...

Looking in detail at certain places (angles of houses, public benches ...), we still notice a few stones of Ballast left here and there, in exchange for the cargo of Salt taken at the port. These Lest stones were used to build houses, to pave certain streets ... they are traces of the maritime past of the town.
