Site de la Riante vallée

Want to take a break and relax in the fresh air? The Riante Vallée site is the ideal place to enjoy a waterside environment. This recently-developed area features a children's playground, a permanent orienteering course and a picnic area.

Open all year round, the Riante Vallée is a shaded area just outside the village of Riaillé on the way to Ancenis. There's a children's play area and picnic furniture all over the site. So you can enjoy your lunch in peace and quiet in a green, shady area. There is a car park and toilet facilities at the entrance to the site... Access to the banks of the Erdre makes this area a pleasant stopover in a green setting. The wash-house, restored in the early 90s, adds a special charm to these convivial moments. This beautiful building houses a picnic table, ideal for sheltering from the rain.

And there's no better way to digest than to follow the Erdre Valley circuit, which winds its way down the banks of the river for an 8.5km hike, or simply to walk the few kilometres to the Haut Rocher footbridge and admire the beautiful views towards Joué-sur-Erdre. Enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside and discover some of the pretty hidden corners of the Erdre valley...

For the more sporty types, there's a permanent orienteering course nestling in the heart of the Riante Vallée. There are five different themes on this trail, all with the same objective: to hunt for the beacons!

Fishermen are also welcome! The Riante Vallée site boasts a wide variety of fish species: you can expect to catch pike, pike-perch, perch, carp, tench, bream, roach, eel, etc. Fishing is subject to general regulations and to the condition of acquiring a fishing licence. Cards are available from the Amicale des Pêcheurs à ligne de Riaillé at the Café de l'Eglise or the Riant' Café in the village.
