Plage Valentin
This long beach of fine sand (740m) is a delight for sailors, swimmers and sunbathers.
It is the largest beach in the resort and on the wild coast.
Plage Valentin offers a range of on-site services:
- Restaurant on site
- 2 toilet blocks
- Lifeguard post from 5 July to 31 August from 1.30 pm to 7 pm
- Nearby parking spaces
- Bicycle parking spaces
Nearby, a sailing school (Ecole de voile française) and the Mersea boarding school offer a wide range of activities.
Valentin beach is patrolled 7 days a week from 5 July to 31 August, from 1.45pm to 7pm by SNSM lifeguards.
An access mat is available at the entrance to the beach (rue Appert) for people with reduced mobility. They are available from 15 June to 15 September (weather permitting).
Amphibious wheelchairs are also available on request from the lifeguard station from 4 July to 31 August.
Dogs and other animals are not allowed on any of the beaches, even on a lead, between 10am and 8pm from 15 April to 30 September. Further information can be found in the municipal by-law "General police regulations for bathing and nautical activities in the waters surrounding the beaches of the municipality of Batz-sur-Mer" below.
It is forbidden to light beach fires on the Valentin beach and to smoke in the "smoke-free areas" of the Valentin beach.
