PASSAGE DU GOIS
The Gois is a deformation of the word "foré".
This submersible passage links the island of Noirmoutier to the mainland via a 4.150 km road, which is uncovered twice a day, opening up the causeway for a period of 2 to 5 hours depending on the strength of the tide.
The high tide covers it by 1.50 to 3 metres depending on the coefficients.
Crossing is possible 1h30 before to 1h30 after low tide.
Scrupulously respect the signs and safety instructions posted around the site.
