JARDIN MÉDIÉVAL
Since 2008, the medieval-inspired garden on the outskirts of the château has been an additional feature, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in this period.
"A condensed version of 3 14th-century gardens: a castle garden, a monastery garden and a peasant garden, covering some 2,000 square metres. There's a vegetable garden with forgotten vegetables such as parsnips, a kind of turnip and carrot in one, and cardoons, ancestors of artichokes. In the orchard, you'll discover the Damassine, a plum native to Damascus in Syria. More intriguingly, the Drap d'or apple, a very old species thought to have originated in Nozay! An area of courtly love: This place where the beauties let themselves be talked about is the transition between the orchard and the vegetable garden. It is embellished by squares of flowers that were known at the time as "Marie's Garden".
Dye plants: "The ones we use to make colours for our calligraphy workshop", say our 2 medieval gardeners! Finally, as in every self-respecting castle, there's a vine! It's real, and it's attached to the wall of the enclosure.
