Tour Mélusine
The Mélusine tower stands 36 metres high, offering an exceptional panoramic view of the Mervent-Vouvant forest massif and the village of Vouvant.
This circular keep dates from the early 13th century, or even the very end of the 12th century.According to legend, the tower was built by the fairy Mélusine.
Discover 2 vaulted domed rooms and enjoy an incredible panoramic view of the medieval town, the river La Mère and the edge of the forest from the top of the tower!
Keys to the Mélusine Tower can be hired from the Tourist Office, Place du Bail, from April to All Saints' Day.
Pets are welcome in the tower, provided they are kept on a lead.
For even more fun, discover the Mélusine Tower with the "Save the Mélusine Tower" game! This experience combines virtual reality and mini-games, transporting you back to the Middle Ages, accompanied by the fairy Mélusine, to discover the fortified castle of Vouvant. Adventure kit hire (headset and key) from Vouvant Tourist Office.
