LE MANOIR DE LA CHATAIGNERAIE

Manoir de la Chataigneraie was built in 1860 by the architect Valette for William Leray.

La Châtaigneraie stands out from its neighbours on the banks of the Erdre, as historians refer to the Palladian style in reference to Palladio, a 16th-century Italian architect. This architectural style is widely used in Clisson, an Italian town in the Loire-Atlantique region.

After a succession of sales and purchases, the house finally came into the possession of Mr and Mrs Legoff, who donated the grounds to the town council between 1931 and 1986.

The house was then sold to the Delphin couple, who gave La Châtaigneraie its reputation as a gastronomic mecca.

Today, the Manoir de la Châtaigneraie is a café, a restaurant and a lively place to visit!
