Bright riverside gîte in the countryside 10 minutes from Laval

La Prise d'Eau is a highly original gîte: the water that powered the steam trains came from its heart! You can see what's left of it in the living room thanks to a glass floor. It's truly exceptional!
You'll love the spacious living areas (37m²), the open-plan kitchen leading to the large living room with fireplace, complemented by a bright conservatory opening onto the wooden terrace overlooking the garden and offering a view of the river, the Vicoin. 2 bedrooms (1 with a double bed (160x190) and 1 with 2 single beds (90x190)). Separate WC. Shower room with shower cubicle and heated towel rail.
The private garden is partly fenced (with an open area remaining), mostly lawn, with a petanque area and a swing set. Fixed barbecue, garden furniture and private parking.
For your leisure activities, the greenway (cycle-pedestrian) is 500m away. You can spend a lovely day going to Saint-Berthevin: forest, swimming pool, river and restaurant. Alternatively, head to L'Huisserie and follow the Mayenne towpath, known as the Vélo Francette (from Caen to La Rochelle).
Hiking and horse-riding trails start from the gîte.
Laval is a 10-minute drive away: theatre, museum, cinema, golf course, marina, boat and bike hire, and of course the historic heart of Laval with its medieval château and 17th-century dwelling. The Vieux-Château houses the Musée d'Art naîf et d'Arts singuliers de Laval (MANA). Henri Rousseau, known as the Douanier, a native of Laval, illustrates this artistic movement.

The river, the Vicoin (2nd category), offers fishing depending on the water level in the river - fishing permit required. The gîte has a fishing room with water point and fridge, outside the house. Sheets not provided, optional extra €8 per pair.
Professional stay: 3 people maximum. Cleaning and bed linen options compulsory. 1 cleaning for 1 to 14 nights.
Weekend stay: arrival on Friday at the end of the day - departure on Sunday during the day.
Stay from 1 to 7 nights: arrival at the end of the day and departure at 10am.
If cleaning is not an optional extra, a €80 cleaning deposit cheque is required on arrival (returned at the end of the stay if the house has been fully cleaned).
