Église Saint-Melaine - Miré

Saint-Mélaine church, with its Romanesque foundations and 16th-century alterations, is less than 10 minutes from Châteauneuf-sur-Sarthe, on the border between Anjou Bleu and Sarthe.

The Romanesque church was donated to Saint-Serge Abbey in Angers by Lord Guy de Cré in 1075. It was remodelled in the early 16th century.
The building's features include a bell tower on the transept crossing, painted panelling dating from the late 15th century and the base of the cradle decorated with scenes from the Old and New Testaments.
