At Saint-Nazaire, the Sémaphore offers a 5-metre ascent and an exceptional view of the Méan mudflats and the Saint-Nazaire bridge in the background.
The Loire, France's longest river, after a journey of more than 1,000 km, flows here before you into the immensity of the Atlantic. The meeting of these two forces, fresh and salt water, creates major currents that make this part of the mouth difficult to navigate.
Practical information:
- Free access all year round, on foot or by bike.
- Access for people with reduced mobility up to the foot of the work.
- Access limited to two adults at a time.
- Climbing prohibited in the event of rain or strong winds.
