Matthieu Cheptou

Matthieu Cheptou is a professional beekeeper based in Montrevault-sur-Evre.

Since 2018, Matthieu Cheptou has taken up beekeeping and manages a small number of hives to produce honey. His special feature is that he rents out other hives to businesses and local authorities within a 50 km radius of Montrevault. These tenants receive 100% of the honey produced, around 7 kg per hive, and can watch the harvest.

Matthieu produces two types of honey: spring honey and all-flower honey.

In addition to his work as a beekeeper, he teaches schoolchildren about the crucial role of bees, explaining how they are organised and the different functions they perform throughout their lives. Since April 2021, he has also been responsible for destroying wasp and hornet nests.
