The story of Curé Nantais began at the end of the 19th century on the banks of the Loire. It was the result of a meeting between a local farmer, Pierre Hivert, and a clergyman that gave birth to a cheese first called "Régal des Gourmets", then "Curé Nantais". The cheese dairy remained in St Julien de Concelles for 4 generations, and from competitions to medals, Curé Nantais became one of the jewels in the crown of Nantes gastronomy.
Today, the workshop has been modernised, but the methods are still the same: Curé Nantais is made exclusively with fresh milk from the morning milking, "raw milk", in traditional copper vats. After the moulding stage, it is matured in a cool, damp cellar on spruce boards, which gives it its beautiful orange rind and its supple, melt-in-the-mouth texture, releasing delicate, fruity aromas.

The Maison Bordier team is open all year round, from Tuesday to Friday, and invites you to visit the Curé Nantais production workshop, followed by a gourmet tasting session.
There is a charge for the visit, and bookings can be made directly online.
Pleasures for the palate
On the outskirts of Pornic, in the Halle La Table du Curé, you'll find the Maison Bordier shop. Butters remixed and hand-pressed in the workshop, a selection of cheeses matured in their cellars (also available on cocktail platters) and, of course, the Curé Nantais!
The entire Bordier team is on hand to give you invaluable advice on the creamery, Beurre Bordier delicatessen and local products.
Maison Bordier-Le Curé Nanatis is one of Pornic's local producers featured by the Destination Pornic Tourist Office.
