SORTIES DÉCOUVERTE AVEC UN VIEUX GRÉEMENT "LE CORNÉLIA"
Entertainment aboard an old sailing ship
Volunteers from the association invite you to come aboard "Cornelia", an old Dutch sailing ship built in 1908. A traditional working sailboat, it is classified as a Boat of Heritage Interest. You'll discover sailing the old-fashioned way.
If you wish, you can try your hand at tiller steering, hoist the mainsail and understand how the characteristic side daggerboards work.
You'll have the chance to pass the châteaux, perhaps catch a glimpse of a kingfisher, and understand the richness of the marshes.
It's a special time, timeless, as the water flows by. The Erdre, which can only really be seen from the water, and the Nantes-Brest Canal open up to you, silently, slowly, to the rhythm of the wind and the barge.
The association regularly organises friendly evenings, including ciné-voiles, concerts and conferences.
We're also trying to develop river and sea freight transport, as a reminder of the history of the Nantes-Brest canal and the barge's past as a workboat.
