Circuit de découverte d'une heure au club Canoës-Kayak de Montreuil-Bellay

Discover the Thouet and Montreuil-Bellay's heritage by canoe, kayak, paddle or pedalo on this one-hour discovery tour.

Leaving the Base, you'll pass the port of St Catherine, from where you'll have a magnificent view of the Pont Napoléon, overlooked by the Collegiate Church.

-Canoeing / Kayaking: pass under the bridge and turn right. You'll be sailing between small wild islands, and with a bit of luck you'll spot grey herons. You'll also have a great view of the ruins of the old bridge.
- Paddle / Pedalo: go under the bridge towards the dam, then turn right to admire the ruins of the old bridge.

On the way back to the dam crossing point, the old flour mill, the collegiate church and the castle are all there to be seen.

- Canoeing/kayaking: once you've crossed the dam, head up the Thouet to the ring road bridge. The Boëlle tower, the Auberge des îles, the Île des Nobis and the Puy-Notre-Dame road area mark out your route.

As you make your way back downstream past the Pont Napoléon, pass an old wash-house, then head towards the Moulin de la Salle before returning to the canoe base.
