The "Les Gascieux" walking trail in Saint-André des Eaux is ideal for nature and heritage lovers. With a length of 8 kilometres, it offers a varied and highly enjoyable route through the countryside and its typical Brière marsh hamlets.

The walk starts in the centre of the town, just a few minutes from Saint-Nazaire and its beaches. As you leave the village, the traditional thatched-roof houses become more and more prominent, adding a unique charm to this walk or mountain bike ride.

The route then follows a forest track, before reaching a clearing where walkers can rest and enjoy exceptional views over the Brière Regional Nature Park. The walk then continues through the fields and marshes of the Brière.

This walk is also an opportunity to discover a rich and varied flora and fauna, including the famous herons, spoonbills, egrets and other feathered creatures that nest in the heart of this bird paradise.

Along the way, walkers can discover the rich heritage of the Brière, including numerous crosses, wells and granite buildings. The route is easy and suitable for all levels of walker, whether as a family, with friends or on your own.
