Le Grand Chemin: a journey through time and nature in Rouans

Follow in the footsteps of the film "Le Grand Chemin", directed by Jean-Loup Hubert in 1986, and plunge into the heart of the Pays de Retz hinterland.
This walking and cycling trail will take you through rolling countryside and a rich and varied natural environment.

Follow the country lanes and discover :


Green hillsides stretching as far as the eye can see.
The hamlet of La Brounière, a haven of peace with stone houses and thatched roofs.
The little wooden bridges spanning the peaceful River Blanche.
Buzon, an ancient port that evokes memories of the monks of Buzay.
Saint-Martin-de-Vertou and the Bec mill, relics of the past that bear witness to the region's history.



Admire the flora and fauna that thrive in this bucolic setting:


Lush undergrowth where songbirds hide.
Green pastures where cows and sheep graze peacefully.
Market gardens that add a thousand and one colours to the landscape.
Wet marshes where amphibians and insects nest.



Trail: longer route with a few technical sections, suitable for experienced cyclists and suitable for mountain bikes.
