Cercle de la Ville de Saumur, Boule de fort
The Cercle de la Ville, in collaboration with the Fédération de Boules de Fort du Saumurois, aims to keep the boule de fort alive, a local heritage game classified as a "Loire heritage game" by the Ministry of Culture.
The Fédération des Jeux de Boules de Fort du Saumurois was founded on 13 April 1933 and now has 92 member clubs. It officially re-opened its doors at 12 rue des Carabiniers-de-Monsieur on 28 June 2013. Its founding members are committed to promoting this sport, a veritable institution in Anjou.Every Wednesday morning, they welcome young people for introductory courses. Tourists, whether in groups or individually, are also invited to put on their charentaises so that they can fully understand the rules and get as close as possible to the "master" of the boule.
The boule de fort is classified as "Loire heritage" by the Ministry of Culture and has a bright future in Saumur. Don't delay, come and try your hand!
