In La Turballe, a pretty little fishing town on the Guérande peninsula, the Atlantic cinema is run by the Cinéma Atlantic association and its hundred or so volunteers.

A local cinema classified as "Art et Essai", with the "Recherche et Découverte", "Jeune Public" and "Patrimoine et Répertoire" labels, the cinema offers an eclectic and demanding programme at attractive rates, showcasing the full diversity of French, European and world cinema production.

Foreign films are shown in their original version. Documentaries, film-concerts, debates, themed cycles and revivals of classics win the loyalty of a curious public who appreciate the friendly atmosphere.

Committed to educating young cinema-goers about the cinema, the venue hosts the three national schemes (Lycéens, Collège and Ecole au Cinéma), offering screenings for young audiences throughout the year, as well as mash-up workshops. It also organises the Rêves d'Enfances Festival and "Mon premier ciné" screenings for toddlers (aged 2 and over) during the school holidays.
As part of its educational and social commitment, the association, in partnership with APEI 44, organises screenings for people with disabilities that can lead to behavioural problems.
The 160-seat auditorium is air-conditioned, and the local currency, the ROZO, is accepted.
No advance sales online, but bookings can be made remotely for holders of a loaded season ticket.
