6PAR4 - Scène de musiques actuelles
6PAR4 is open from September to May. The venue closes its season just before the Les 3 éléphants festival, which takes over and kicks off the festival season. 6PAR4 has been awarded the SMAC (Scène de Musiques Actuelles) label by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication since 2015.
The venue is run by the Poc Pok association. Based in Laval since 2008, the venue has a capacity of 330.6PAR4's activities are centred on four areas:
- broadcasting contemporary music concerts, concerts at 6PAR4 and off-site events.
- supporting artistic creation at departmental, regional and national level (residencies, spin-offs, etc.)
- support for local practices and initiatives: information and training in contemporary music, advice meetings, support for amateur and professional projects, participation in resources via the Tranzistor.org website (directory, useful links, newsletter).
- cultural action and artistic education: raising awareness among different audiences, artistic actions and programmes for schoolchildren from nursery to high school, meetings with artists, prevention, conferences, work with disadvantaged audiences, etc.
