Beneath its 12th-century remains, it forms a setting for the 19th-century murals that cover the entirety of its interior walls - the work of Angevin painter René Jouhan - altarpieces listed as Historic Monuments and frescoes dating from the late Middle Ages. These treasures are currently the subject of a major restoration project.
