Église Saint-Pierre - Cherré

Saint-Pierre church was rebuilt in the 19th century in Cherré, a small village in Anjou Bleu, at the crossroads of the Mayenne, Sarthe and Anjou regions.

The church was rebuilt in the 19th century but retains its 17th-century bell tower.
It was completely destroyed by fire during the Chouannerie, hence its recent reconstruction. In 1967, work uncovered the paintings on the calvary and three headless statues, one of which depicts Saint-Séréné. They probably come from the Plessis aux Nonnains, an estate in Cherré, and certainly date from the late 11th century.

A tour guide will help you explore the site.
