Presentation of: Chapelle Sainte-Anne
Built between 1880 and 1886 by the architect Georges Lafont, the chapel was extended in 1903 to include two side aisles to accommodate the estimated summer population of 4,000. A new church, Notre Dame, was built in 1931. The chapel lay derelict for several years and was sold in 1981 by the parish to the town of La Baule. It was completely renovated and converted into a cultural venue. The Chapelle Sainte Anne was inaugurated in 1989 as a new cultural centre hosting exhibitions and concerts.
