Beautiful esplanade with bandstand, green areas (playground) and bleachers on the banks of the river

The square has three sections: an esplanade, a green area with a playground and a tiered area on the banks of the river.

In the 19th century, the old branch of the river was filled in, leaving a vast area with little room for development, which the town council decided to turn into a promenade. The work was entrusted to the Anjou landscape gardener Killian (1863-1866).
After just a few months' work, Boston Square now has a resolutely modern, mineral appearance. Accessible since the beginning of summer 2011, the renovated area now has three sections: an esplanade with removable planters for events, a green space section with a play area and a tiered seating area on the banks of the river. The bandstand, built in 1879 by the architect Georget, has also been restored.
