LES BASSES PRISONS & LE CHAMP DE FOIRE

The "Basses Prisons" are the remains of the ramparts of the castle built by the Viscounts of Thouars who founded the town. Place du Champ de Foire was the lower courtyard of the castle. It is surrounded by fascinating houses.
