Gîte Colibri

An unusual timber-framed holiday rental for nine people, the Gîte Colibriloc blends into the natural surroundings of around three hectares, half of which is woodland and meadow. The pond makes this holiday rental ideal for fishing enthusiasts.

The hamlet of Linières in Brigné-Layon is 30 minutes from Angers and Saumur. It is attached to Doué-la-Fontaine, the city of roses, with its boutique and park on the theme of "Les chemins de la rose", its rose water distillery and its international floral art competition in the arena. Doué is also renowned for its "Bioparc", the only cave zoo in the world.

The "Colibri" accommodation, built on a lorry trailer and decorated in an unusual way, will delight you during your stay. The owners, who are keen recyclers, have repurposed and customised the objects used in this ecological dwelling.

Le Colibri is partly heated by a wood fire during the cold season.
It has a fully-equipped kitchen and four bedrooms with fitted wardrobes and extra duvets, blankets and pillows. It has 1 160 cm bed, 3 140 cm beds and 1 90 cm bed; two showers, a bath, five washbasins, 2 WCs; 2 televisions.

Outside, you'll find terraces equipped with two sets of garden furniture for 10 people, deckchairs and a removable swimming pool in summer.
(And if you really want to swim, but in a natural environment, the "Domaine de l'étang" in Brissac-Quincé is 15 minutes from Colibriloc. Also the Grézillé pond, 12 minutes away) or the aquatic centre, 10 minutes away in Doué en Anjou.
At your disposal: an outdoor plancha, particularly recommended for frying your catch from the park's pond. Large and small barbecues are also available.

A few farm animals in an aviary, a pony and its companion Mr Bélier, as well as wildlife, will accompany you during your stay.
At "Escapades du Meugon", 10 minutes from the accommodation, you can take a walk with llamas in halters. For wallabies, the "Jardin des kangourous" is 40 minutes away, where you can meet them without any barriers.

A number of bicycles are available for young and old alike.
Outdoor games: sandpit and plastic toys, ping-pong table, swing, boules and Angevin shuffleboard await you!

"Relaxation area": a dedicated indoor space right next to the gîte, with a pool table with one-euro coins, table football, scrapbooking, colouring, board games and children's books available to share with your guests and other holidaymakers.

There are many troglodytic sites of falun and tuffeau to visit in the Doué region, around fifteen minutes from the Gîte, as well as several underground restaurants serving the speciality of fouée, cooked over a wood fire... to discover!

Wines and spirits are very much in evidence in the Loire Valley. Three wineries are just a five-minute walk from Le Colibri. For wine tourism enthusiasts, Domaine Pied Flond in Martigné/Briand, 8 minutes from the gîte, offers a solex ride to visit the vineyards and taste the wines. There are also distilleries in Saumur, Angers and Avrillé.

To discover the Loire: canoe hire, paddle-boat hire, toue cabanée cruises and guinguettes all along the Loire for a bite to eat.
Another great experience: a hot-air balloon flight, for example to Brissac-Quincé, 17 minutes from the gîte.

For lovers of large parks: "Terra Botanica" in Angers, 30 minutes away, "Tépacap Anjou-Parc Aventure et Loisirs" in Ecouflant, 30 minutes away, "Forest Aventures" in Saumur, 30 minutes away. The "Parc oriental de Maulévrier" 40 minutes away, the "Puy-du-Fou" 1 hour away and the Futuroscope 1 hour 30 minutes away...
