This pleasant walk will take you on a tour of the remains of slate quarrying, which has set the pace in the village of La Pouëze over the last 2 centuries.

The Espérance site at La Pouëze is one of the most emblematic sites in the Anjou Bleu region. The slate quarried here was fine and of very high quality. The Chevalement or "square" stands proudly above the old No. 3 well. Signs tell stories and anecdotes about the lives of quarrymen and miners.
