LA COLLINE DES MOULINS

Colline des Moulins, also known as "Moulins des de Lattre".

The hill of Moulins dominates the Vendée bocage:
8 of the original 15 mills are still visible: 4 have been restored and the others are in ruins or hidden in the vegetation.
They were used for communication during the Vendée wars, and were destroyed during the revolution by Westerman.
One of them was converted into a chapel in memory of Jean de Lattre de Tassigny and his son.

Starting from Mouilleron St Germain town hall square, a 7.2km walking trail called "le sentier des meuniers" takes you up the hill.
