Eglise de Missillac
This church was built in the 19th century on the orders of the Marquis de Montaigu, replacing and building on the ruins of the former 13th-century Templar church. At the end of the 19th century, Abbé Gaudin began construction of the current church, which is much larger and better adapted to the ever-growing population.
- 31 May 1880: digging of the foundations begins
- 11 July 1880: laying and blessing of the foundation stone
- 30 September 1883: blessing of the first part of the church (choir, transept and ½ nave) by the Bishop of Nantes, Mr LECOQ
- 1896: work resumes on the second part of the church (lower nave, facade and bell tower) after the old church is demolished.
- 16 September 1898: consecration of the building by Mgr ROUARD.
