Randonnée "La colonne"
Follow in the footsteps of the Vendée Wars on this walking tour between Nantes and the Vendée...
Between Anjou and the Vendée, follow in the footsteps of the Vendée Wars that left their mark on the commune.Along the way, you'll come across a number of relics of the 1793 Revolution, including the Torfou Column, the Chemin des Femmes and the Maison Neuve arch. Each of these sites is accompanied by an explanatory panel, accessible to children aged 8 and over, which recounts historical facts and anecdotes.
Stroll through the magnificent landscapes typical of the region: woods, fields and the banks of the Sèvre. Pass memorable sites such as the Roman road and the Moulin à Foulon.
Along the way, discover a remarkable built heritage, with the Château du Couboureau and its former Gaillard outbuilding. And don't forget to stop off at the Château de Tiffauges, also known as the Château de Barbe Bleue because of its infamous resident Gilles de Rais. The route passes close by and this castle, brought to life by actors, is a must-see!
