Presentation of: THE CONGOS + THE GLADIATORS - COMPLET

THE CONGOS :

Cedric Myton, Ashanti Roy, Watty Burnett and Talash, the latest addition, are true rastas who live and act in accordance with the image they convey, and who have remained close to their roots and their principles.
Of course, their fame was first built around the legendary Heart of the Congos album, which contains roots reggae gems such as the famous Fisherman, considered by Rolling Stone magazine to be one of the ten best reggae tracks of all time.
Like many other artists from this era, they have been less prolific in recent years, but their last two albums 'Swinging Bridge' and 'Back In The Black Ark' (recorded again with Lee Perry) each contain timeless songs carried by exceptional vocal harmonies, 'Ten Million Charriots' 'Spiritual Organization' 'La La Bella' 'Garden of Life' and 'Old Time Friend' to name but a few. They will be back in the studio to record a new album, to be released in spring 2024 to coincide with their European tour.

THE GLADIATORS :

The Gladiators wrote such iconic 70s Roots Rock Reggae tracks as "Hello Carol", "Bongo Red" and "Roots Natty", but it was in 1976 with the release of the legendary "Trenchtown Mix Up" on Virgin that they achieved international fame, sharing the bill with other reggae greats such as Toots & the Maytals, U-Roy and Jimmy Cliff in Europe and the USA.

Having toured constantly since then, Albert Griffiths decided to take a well-deserved retirement in 2004, handing over the leadership of the GLADIATORS to his son Al for the release of the album 'Father and Sons', his other son Anthony having already been playing drums with the band since 1997. Al's resemblance to his father, both physically and vocally, was so striking that the public quickly agreed to let him take over. So they're delighted to be joining forces with another major group in the history of Jamaican reggae, The Congos, for their tour. Get ready for a great party!
