Update of 28/10/2025: For reasons completely beyond their control, Les Comédiens Chapelais are forced to stop their 2025 theatre season. As a result, the planned show: "L'Hôtel du Libre échange" has been postponed until 2026.

L'Hôtel du Libre Échange - 2025 Season
L'Hôtel du Libre Échange is a comedy in 3 acts by Georges FEYDEAU. An adaptation directed by Sylvie RABILLER and Thierry BOURSEREAU and performed by Les Comédiens Chapelais.

Synopsis :

"Mr Pinglet, a building contractor who has been married for 20 years to a rather cantankerous woman, is secretly in love with his young neighbour, Mme Paillardin, whom her husband is neglecting. Together, they decide to spend a "very hot" night at the Hôtel du Libre-Echange which, as its name suggests, is a rather shady place run by Mr Louis and Simonne, 2 rather eccentric characters. Unfortunately for them, the night is not going to go as planned. Unfortunately for them, the night is not going to go as planned. In the hotel, they come face to face with Mr Paillardin, who has come to investigate the presence or not of spirits and ghosts in the hotel; with Victoire, the Pinglet's maid, who has come to 'unburden' Maxime, a rather uptight philosophy teacher and Mr Paillardin's brother; and with Mr Mathieu, a friend of the Pinglet's from the provinces, accompanied by his three daughters who have just left boarding school.

Lies, misunderstandings, escapes, deceit...

Watch out, the doors are about to slam and Feydeau's mechanism is about to get under way..."
