Étang de pêche de la Fontaine

Quiet, easily accessible communal pond where you will find roach, rotengles, carp, tench, bream, trout, etc. You can fish with two rods with a fishing card specific to the pond, sold in the village or online.

The Etang de la Fontaine is owned by the commune of Saint-Michel-en-l'Herm. It is managed by Sébastien PALIER - Cap pêche et nature.

The pond is open to fishing from 1 Monday in March to 30 November. Fishing is permitted from sunrise to sunset.

Daily, weekly, monthly and annual fishing permits are available from Tabac-Presse and Carrefour Express in Saint-Michel-en-l'Herm and Riv'à Pêche in Luçon, as well as from the South Vendée Tourist Offices (Saint-Michel-en-l'Herm, l'Aiguillon-sur-Mer, La Faute-sur-Mer, Luçon and Mareuil-sur-Lay).

You can buy your card online. You will need to present it at the checkpoints. It can also be presented in digital form (PDF) on your smartphone.

Regular releases and competitions are organised.

The following are permitted: 2 rods with 1 hook per angler. 20 roach, 1 tench, 4 trout, 1 zander or pike per day and per angler. Eel fishing is prohibited.

Carp fishing is mainly authorised under the No-Kill system.

The regulations are displayed at the edge of the pond.

All other fishing systems are prohibited.

CAP PÊCHE ET NATURE FISHING SCHOOL
This school is for children aged 8 to 12.
Two cycles of 3 sessions will enable children to learn line fishing and fishing with a reel (carp fishing).
The 3-hour sessions (2pm and 5pm) on Saturdays will give children the chance to practise these two fishing techniques on the Etang de la Fontaine, learning about the equipment, baits, accessories and other tricks to help them become independent anglers.
