Presentation of: Tour de Saint-Menele

On this walk you will see the imposing private château of Bois-Dauphin, home to 2 illustrious families, the Montmorency-Laval and Colbert families.

You will discover a highly diverse built heritage, bearing witness to the history of Précigné: private châteaux and mills, middle-class houses and chapels... Like the chapel of Saint-Ménélé, built in the middle of the fields in the 12th and 13th centuries. This charming chapel bears the name of Ménelé, a child from Précigné who was beatified for having evangelised the Auvergne.

Nearby attractions include the former abbey dwelling of Perray-Neuf, which can be visited by prior arrangement, and the parish church of Saint-Pierre de Précigné. You can also visit the Manoir and medieval garden at Sourches.
