Sur les traces de Jacques et Etienne, tailleurs de pierre - Balade numérique Baludik
In 1833, two stonemasons, Jacques and Étienne, arrived in the peaceful village of Miré from faraway places. Their mission? To breathe new life into the church of Saint-Melaine, the stone sentinel that has stood silent watch over the village since the 11th century.
The Anjou Bleu Tourist Office invites you to follow in the footsteps of these two men and discover the history of Miré: its well-kept secrets, its buildings steeped in history, its everyday life of yesteryear... Their story becomes the guiding thread for an immersion into the very soul of the village, between heritage, rural life, ancestral know-how and the natural landscape. So, are you ready to follow the shards of stone and the shards of life? With your batteries fully charged, head for Place de l'église to start your walk!
For your information, you'll find shops, parking and toilets close to the start.
