This quiet, shady route takes you across the Lay on the Portes de Mortevieille bridge.

This hydraulic structure was built in the 1960s to regulate the water level of the river, conserving water in summer and releasing it to the ocean in winter.

This whole section, in a flood zone, will show you just how capricious the river can be.
