In the heart of the Loire marshes

The trail starts gently at the port of Lavau-sur-Loire and takes walkers through the authentic narrow streets of this small marshland village. The walk then continues to the trou bleu, a former blue granite quarry once bordered by the Loire. This is an opportunity to discover these old quarries filled with water, now a favourite spot with fishermen... One last step into the countryside and the heart of the marsh comes into view. Here, a vast green expanse opens up, dotted with canals, ponds and reeds where frogs and storks populate the area and entertain visitors.
