Circuit des fours à chaux
A pleasant 12.5-kilometre walk in the heart of the Angrie countryside, where you'll discover old kilns that were still producing lime in the last century.
Set off to discover this part of the Anjou Bleu countryside, whose rich subsoil has been the source of its rich past...The Angrie lime kilns walking trail, which we recommend you follow in a clockwise direction, takes you along pretty country lanes and sunken paths, whose hedges provide shelter from the sun and wind and are a delight to the birds, which are sure to "sing their displeasure" as you pass.
You will soon see the ruins of the White Mill, which you will pass. On the southern part of the route, you will take a small road passing in front of the beautiful residence of La Gachetière on your left before seeing rocky outcrops a few metres further on your right in the middle of a pasture. After walking as far as Beau Soleil, at the junction with the D770, cross it immediately to reach the opposite bank of the road, where it will be safer to join the next local road after Les Maisons Blanches. You will pass through a pine forest before climbing up to the Saint-Pierre lime kiln, then along the imposing Veurière kilns (open to visitors by prior arrangement).
