CIRCUIT DE L'ILE DE MAZEROLLES

A 15km2 FF Randonnée® trail with access to the Erdre.

Discover the Plaines de Mazerolles, a vast expanse 3 kilometres long and 1 kilometre wide, and with a little patience you might just spot herons on the banks and other birds, which are plentiful during the migration season. The site has been awarded the LPO (League for the Protection of Birds) refuge label, and is also home to three beehives funded by the local authority and an orchard. A themed trail has also been created by the local council.
The route starts on the banks of the Erdre, then winds its way through undergrowth and sunken lanes, passing through some delightful little villages.
You can take the Vélodyssée route to the port of Sucé-sur-Erdre, or set off from the town centre for this walk.
