Following the banks of the Loire, you can penetrate the bowels of the soft stone, skirting the troglodyte slopes where a plethora of stately homes nestle, built with tufa quarried on site from immense quarries. If you choose the Montsoreau-Saumur route via the hillsides, you can wind your way through the vineyards and enjoy a unique panoramic view of the Loire!
