A walk to discover the charms of Besné, from the Breton Bez Enez, "the island of the tomb". When the waters rise in winter, the village of Besné takes on the appearance of an island. The tour takes you deep into the marsh to discover the stones of ancient cults.

Presentation of: LA CHALANDIERE ET LE BRIVET
Leaving from the commune of Besné in the Brière Regional Nature Park, set off on a two-hour walk, which can also be done on mountain bike or horseback over a distance of almost 9 km.
The route is full of surprises, with stones bearing witness to ancient cults and a windmill dating back to the 16th century. By walking discreetly, lucky walkers will be able to enjoy the wildlife and the many species of birds that inhabit the Brière, such as the Crested Lapwing, a typical wading bird of the marsh with a fine crested tail and black and white plumage.
The walk also allows you to discover the Saint-Second marshes, a protected site left in its natural state with its chapel and cross dating from 1640, as well as its garden created by the inhabitants in 1856.
Continuing on towards the Brivet, walkers will come across the Roche Civant footbridge, a fishing spot and landing stage for the Besné canoeing and kayaking centre. The view is breathtaking and makes for a perfect moment of relaxation.
This walk is a great opportunity to discover the hidden treasures of the Brière while enjoying its lush natural surroundings.
