Abbaye de Trizay

Gîte in the former dwelling of Trizay Abbey, built in the 12th century, 11 km from William Christie's Gardens and 33 km from the Chardons beach (L'Aiguillon-sur-Mer).

The gîte comprises, on the ground floor (access via 2 steps), a living room/kitchen, a utility room and a WC. Upstairs: 2 bedrooms each with 1 x 160cm bed and en-suite shower room/WC, and a large family bedroom (1 x 160cm bed + 2 x 90cm pull-out beds (twin beds) + 1 x 140cm sofa bed) with en-suite shower room and separate WC. Wifi internet access. Outside, a cloister and 3 hectares of grounds on the banks of the Lay shared with visitors to the Abbey (guided tours available every day from 24 June to 30 September 2023). Uninterrupted free access to the abbey buildings open to visitors: upper and lower parts of the abbey church, chapter house. Tables and chairs available near the chapter house, barbecue, Chilean chairs.

The ground floor adjoins a meeting room.

The accommodation is 53 km from the Marais Poitevin and 60 km from the Puy du Fou. Other Vendée abbeys can be visited nearby: Grammont priory 25 km away and Maillezais abbey 46 km away. Electric heating included.
