Just 20 minutes from Saumur, visit a timeless place full of history and passion. The "chambres d'hôtes du Manoir du Bois Noblet" in Louerre, in the commune of Tuffalun, are set in a little corner of greenery in the middle of fields.

You will be able to completely disconnect and live the life of a lord for one or more nights in a prestigious setting... Dominique and François de Barbeyrac offer you a warm welcome in a 15th and 16th century Anjou manor house with tufa stone walls and slate roofs, set in the middle of a superb green park.

As soon as you arrive, you'll be under the spell of the place, and the anecdotes the owners regale you with will take you delightfully far back in time. It has taken several years to restore the manor house to its authentic state, with period furniture, large stone fireplaces, four-poster beds and royal tables just a stone's throw from the prestigious châteaux of the Loire.

You can choose from 4 rooms whose spirit will transport your imagination from the late Middle Ages to the Renaissance.

The first, for 2 people, is the "Carrousel" room, which refers to France's oldest traditional military show, the Carrousel de Saumur. This large 60 m² room is located on the 1st floor of the manor house. Discover the column bed, the old free-standing bath, the large fireplace, the mullioned windows overlooking the park... and don't forget to take a look at the magnificent equestrian engravings inspired by the proximity of the Cadre Noir school in Saumur.

The second, the 'Milly' room, is named after the nearby forest. It is located at the top of a tower under a magnificent exposed white roof structure with a view over the forest. You'll love its Louis XVI furniture, its library stocked with old books and its fully-equipped bathroom.

The third is a 100 m² suite with 2 adjoining bedrooms. It is called the "Suite Aubance" in reference to the River Aubance, which rises in Louerre near the little wash-house behind the church. This suite was inhabited by the lord of the manor in the 16th century. You can admire its monumental fireplace, half-timbered wall, mullioned windows and antique wooden ceiling. Sleeping accommodation includes an imposing oak column bed and two twin beds.


Everything about this place is an invitation to wander and discover. If you don't feel like leaving this magical place in the evening, you are invited (by prior arrangement) to the owners' table d'hôtes in the Manoir's main dining room. On the table, silverware, crystalware and candlesticks are the order of the day to offer you a tasty, home-cooked meal accompanied by local wines.

In the morning, don't leave without a home-cooked breakfast. Make the most of the manor's magnificent surroundings by taking a stroll in the grounds, and if you're lucky you may even spot a 'blue' hen, the totem of the henhouse, before setting off to visit the most beautiful places in the region recommended by your hosts.
