Église Saint-Pierre - Chenillé-Changé

Saint-Pierre church is a Romanesque building located in Chenillé-Changé, in the heart of the Anjou Bleu region.

Saint-Pierre de Chenillé-Changé is a Romanesque church built in the 11th century. It consists of a single nave opening onto a vaulted choir, typical of Romanesque architecture in Anjou.
In 1788, a major campaign of works changed the appearance of the building. The nave, which until then had been poorly lit by small Romanesque windows, was pierced by large round-headed windows, bringing more light into the interior. The bell tower and two sacristies, to the north and south of the chevet, were also built at this time.
The church thus illustrates the evolution of a medieval religious building adapted to the liturgical and architectural needs of the following centuries.
