Chapelle Sainte Scholastique

Sainte Scholastique chapel is a little Romanesque jewel nestling on the edge of the woods that once belonged to the feudal manor of Monthibeault (destroyed around 1830). It was dedicated to Saint Scholastique, patron saint of the town of Le Mans, by the lord of Monthibault in 1204. This religious building is rich in several styles, from the 12th to the 18th centuries. Inside, an 18th-century altarpiece features statues of Saint Scholastica, Saint Margaret, Saint Mary and Saint Roch.
