Presentation of: RESERVE BIOLOGIQUE DE LA POINTE D'ARCAY

The Pointe d'Arçay has been protected by a National Game Reserve since 1951, in order to create a reception area for migrating and wintering waterfowl. The Réserve Biologique Dirigée de la Pointe d'Arçay was created on 12 January 1982 (214 hectares of national forest). Managed by the Office National des Forêts, in collaboration with the French Office for Biodiversity, this remarkable site is an exceptional refuge for a group of habitats that are home to many remarkable species of flora and fauna.

The site is closed to the public, but you can still explore it on free guided tours organised each summer, subject to prior booking.
