Cormier beach is unfortunately one of the many beaches victims of the Erika shipwreck in 1999. This accident resulted in the loss of 18,000 tonnes of fuel oil spilled into the sea, causing an oil spill over more than 400km of coastline. These shipwrecks are real tragedies and the emotion aroused by this type of disaster is, fortunately, gradually leading to new legal measures and developing the right to protect the environment.
The fisrt aid post is open during the summer. Life guards are on place.
A wooden platform ( what we call : "tiralo") is pecially there for handicapped people, is equipped with a floating beach chair.
