Les Pierres levées natural site - Picnic area
The legend of the Turning Stones dates back to the Middle Ages. It says that at nightfall, the megaliths rise up and spin in the air. Legend also had it that they blocked a major water reserve which, if removed, would submerge the town of Ecommoy. The stones were moved during the construction of the A28 motorway and replaced in a site designed for tourists and walkers.Contact
